The purpose of the Board of Directors is to provide spiritual, financial, and directional support to the ministry of Hope Counseling Center, in accordance with the vision mandated by God for this work.

John H. Kennedy, Professor of Chemistry at UCSB from 1967 to his retirement in 1993, received his BS degree in Chemistry from UCLA and PhD degree from Harvard. After several years in industry at du Pont and General Motors, developing batteries for electrical vehicles, he moved to academia and continued this research at UCSB.
John has been an active member of Christ the King Episcopal Church for over 40 years where he and his wife, Vicki, were married in 1970. He served as choir director from 1982-1998 and has been elected to several 3-year terms on the Church Vestry. He and his wife were home group leaders for many years and are currently choir members. At UCSB John has been a founder and coordinator of the Veritas Forum since its inception at UCSB in 1998. John and Vicki have five children and six grandchildren, all of whom are grown up and living in various places around the USA.
